7 CRITICAL MUSTS (7CMS)

“7 CRITICAL MUSTS” OF BURNING HEARTS

The 7 Critical Musts (CMs) are the key messages that God has deposited in the Burning Hearts community over the past decade. We believe we are given an assignment to express them in word and deed, stewarding the gift to be freely given to all. The 7 CMs are built upon the unshakeable gospel foundation of Jesus' death on the cross, His resurrection from the grave, His ascension to the right hand of  God and His imminent return to Jerusalem to rule over the earth.

  1. The Worth of Jesus - The eternal reality that moved the heart of David and Mary

  2. Friends of the Bridegroom - Our response to embrace the wilderness to prepare His way

  3. Life & Vision of Daniel - The resolve of a people to worship and pray in exile

  4. Gospel of the Kingdom - Our mission to prepare the earth for the coming King

  5. The Pattern of Antioch - Houses of prayer unto apostolic sending

  6. Israel & The Nations - Regional unity in worship between Israel and Ishmael

  7. Fervent Love in Fiery Trials - Loving Jesus and each other unto death

The starting point is The Worth of Jesus (CM1). All things were created for Him (Colossians 1:16), including worshippers in Spirit and truth. The house of prayer is the tangible expression of the ache of David to build God a resting place (Psalm 132) and Mary of Bethany’s extravagant act of worship to break the alabaster jar at His feet (Mark 14). As we are captivated by Him, we find courage to embrace the wilderness like John the Baptist did - as Friends of the Bridegroom (CM2). Like John, we find true delight in laying down our individual dreams and destinies that the Bridegroom may receive His inheritance. We recognise we live as exiles and aliens, awaiting a heavenly city (Hebrews 11:13-16).

We resolve to be like Daniel in Babylon (CM3), who is a prototype of a mature and victorious church, faithful in worship and prayer through every trial in exile. We preach the Gospel of the Kingdom (CM4), heralding the imminent return of the King of Jerusalem, the Son of Man who will return on the clouds to redeem His people and judge the wicked.

As an Antioch Community (CM5), we will commit to the priestly ministry and will give ourselves no rest until He establishes Jerusalem as a praise on the earth (Isaiah 62:6-7). In the pattern of Acts 13, we believe that from this place the Lord will release apostolic sending to the nations to demonstrate His kingdom in word and power. Wherever we are sent, we are committed to building the Highways between Israel & The Nations (CM6) - highways of worship and reconciliation between groups of people previously at enmity - e.g. Assyria, Egypt and Israel (Isaiah 19). And when all is said and done, may we bear the fruit of Fervent Love in Fiery Trials (CM7), loving Jesus and one another even unto death (1 Cor 13, Rev 12), that all will know Him (John 17).
